How to test an Oven Temperature Sensor

How to test an Oven Temperature Sensor

To test an oven temperature sensor you will need a multi meter to measure the amount of Ohms of resistance the sensor shows across the two wires.  You should see about 1080 Ohms with the room at average room temperature (70 degrees F).  This reading will vary slightly with the temperature, but should stay within 10% of that value.  This indicates that the sensor is probably functioning correctly.  If your oven is not getting to the desired temperature, check the incoming power, and check the heating elements for continuity.  The problem could even lie with a fault on the control board.
